HOW TO KNOW AND MAINTAIN YOUR SKIN TYPE

The skin is a reflection of overall wellness. A lot of people still don't know how to care for their skin, their skintype and the suitable products for their skin. We believe that after using sponge, soap and water we are good to go. We make a lot of mistakes while taking care of our skin and while choosing our skin care products which affects it in so many ways. A lot of skin care products we buy  contains harmful chemicals which damages our skin.
Every skin type reacts differently to each ingredient. Commercial products made for the entire population may not really be the best bet for your skin! Which is why knowing your unique skin type is extremely essential for your skincare.

   THE SKIN
The skin is the largest organ of the body, with a total area of about 20 square feet. The skin protects us from microbes and the elements, helps regulate body temperature, and permits the sensations of touch, heat, and cold.
The skin has three layers:

*The epidermis, the outermost layer of skin, provides a waterproof barrier and creates our skin tone.

*The dermis, beneath the epidermis, contains tough connective tissue, hair follicles, and sweat glands.

*The deeper subcutaneous tissue (hypodermis) is made of fat and connective tissue.

Our main focus is the outer layer which is the epidermis. The skin’s color is created by special cells called melanocytes, which produce the pigment melanin. Melanocytes are located in the epidermis.
